Today, my sister had a reading from a Medium. He told her that my granddad (who passed a couple of years ago) had come through. The Medium said that my granddad was happy and that he was... "With his best friend, Joey." My sister sat, puzzled, trying to think of the names of my granddads close friends. After a while, she gave in, and told him that she didn't think my granddad had a friend named Joey. The Medium smiled. "Yes, he did. And he's with him now. He's sitting on his shoulder." Again, more puzzled looks from my sister ... and then the Medium finally explained ... "Joey is a Budgie."

Realization hit, and my sister said her eyes filled with tears. Of course! Joey and granddad were best friends – they adored each other and were inseparable. Joey used to sit on my granddads shoulder for hours and they'd watch TV together, and Joey would try to steal any snack that my granddad happened to be eating. Joey passed about 8 years before my granddad did. Now I know that he waited for him, and that he was there to greet him at the gates, and now they are together for all eternity.

As my sister told me this, I felt such warmth in my heart, and I immediately thought of my Daisy and of this forum. It gave me hope and reassurance that our beloved companions really are waiting for us on the other side and that we will indeed be reunited with them one day. I wanted to share this story with all of you – especially those in the early intense stages of grief, in hopes that it will provide you all with the same sense of comfort and peace.

We will see them again someday. But in the meantime, they are still with us, always. In our hearts and in our memories. We never really lose them.

Wishing you all well,
Cheryl xx

Hi, Cheryl, thank you so much for sharing this wonderful account with us. It is always comforting to receive confirmation of what our hearts hope for and believe. And I'm so very glad it has brought comfort to you.

My friend, I know you're very involved with final exams, preparing for them, etc.. If you can close your eyes and envision your precious Miss Daisy standing on her hind legs holding pompoms in her front feet, please know I am standing right beside her doing the "Go Mum" cheer with her: "Go, mum, go!! My mum's the greatest!!! My mum's the smartest!!! Go, mum, go!!"

Cheryl, I hope life is treating you and your boys kindly. Thank you again so much for sharing this wonderful account wiht us. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers, and look forward to knowing how you're doing whenever possible.

Peace and blessings,
moon_beam

That made me smile, haha, thanks for that cute image, moon_beam biggrin.gif

I only have one more exam to go (which is on the 24th) until freedom! To be honest, I've been a little slack on the studying for this one, I think my mind-set is already in holiday mode, haha. I'm sure I'll do okay though, will just have to cram it all in.

Thank you again for the lovely response, and for your supportive friendship. I hope you and Noah are well. Sending big hugs to you both.

Cheryl xx

Hi, Cheryl, I'm so glad I was able to bring a smile to your heart and face. You're in my thoughts and prayers that your last exam will go well, and I'll look forward to sharing the results with you - - if you'd like to share them.

Noah is doing well, thank you so much for asking. I have a routine dental exam on Thursday, so I'm taking both Thursday and Friday off to have a long weekend with him. I am looking so o o o o forward to that. And this weekend is the Preakness so Noah and I will be watching the ponies on Saturday.

My friend, please know you are in my thoughts and prayers, and look forward to knowing how you're doing. And, if you'd like to, please give Franky and Freddy a little kiss from "auntie moon_beam."

Peace and blessings,
moon_beam

Hi Cheryl,

Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I go back and forth about if I believe I will see my babies some day and this has convinced me that I will. I instantly felt better when I read this.

Thanks again,
Rhapsedy

Hi Rhapsedy, I'm sooooooo glad that this helped to reassure you. I was the same as you -- going back and forth, not quite knowing what to believe, but hoping that it was true. After hearing this, I'm 100% certain that we will see them again. There is no way that medium could have known about Joey (or about so many other things that he mentioned, names, places, events etc...) as he knew nothing about our family history -- in fact, my sister didn't even tell him her name. She gave nothing away. So, I hope you feel some peace that your boys are all together in a wonderful place, and that they will be there to greet you when it's your appropriate time smile.gif

I hope you're doing okay.
Cheryl xx

Dear Cheryl,

Thank you so much for sharing your sisters experience. Sometimes we get so buried in the grief, doubt and fear of our loss that we forget there are stories like this out there. I personally found it helpful - it reminded me of a couple of similar family 'stories' (stories is the wrong word but I'm to tired to get verbiage right tongiht) that I had forgotten about. Thank you for reminding me of things I know to be true but occasionally get too caught up in life and forget.

Moon_Beam - you are an absolute kick! As I read your reponse, even I was getting a visual of Miss Daisy jumping up and down with her pompoms, cheering Cheryl on. Cheryl, you should make that image of Miss Daisy into cartoon character, even an imaginary Bunny Cheerleader with pompoms is funny!

I wish you success on you final, final exam!

please take care,

Peggy

Hi Peggy,

Thank you soooo for much for your lovely response and for your well wishes. The image of my Daisy holding pompoms isn't difficult to imagine -- she used to love to stand right up on her hind-legs (meerkat-style) to have a little nose, so all I need to do is imagine the pompoms. Such a cute image smile.gif

Yes, I agree, sometimes we do get too caught up with life, and grief, and 'rationality' to truly believe what our hearts want us to. So, it's lovely when we hear little 'stories' (I can't think of anything more appropriate word to call them either) like this to help reassure. I do hope that it brought you some comfort and hope that one day you will be with your beautiful Peggy again. Until that day, she's your angel who is watching over you, with you always.

Take care and thanks again,
Cheryl xx
