Tonight I was at the foot of my closet looking for something and Lucy came into the room to see what I was up to. She had her ears flattened back, and when she does that she looks so much like Allie. She would normally just sniff around at my shoes or something and then run off to play. But when she came in with her ears back like that I said, "did my Allie send you to me?" And she sat down right in front of me, ears still back the whole time, and she gave me her paw, which I hadn't seen her do before. She looked at me with the sweetest expression. I looked into her eyes and I just KNEW that she knew all about Allie and that she was here for a reason. And I felt a lot of peace with that. She continued to look into my eyes (which is incredible for her because she has about a 2-second attention span) for at least 10 or 15 seconds, and I said it again, "my Allie sent you to me, didn't she?!" and she gave me her paw one more time! She was still sitting with her ears back the whole time, and she normally only does this when I'm standing above her and she wants to be petted or to lick my hand. So I told her: "You are not Allie. You are Lucy, and you are special. I love you, and we are going to have many happy years together. I want you to be healthy and happy for a long time." And then Norah came in the room and they ran off to play. rolleyes.gif

So I guess this was my sign. Funny thing too, I've been praying for one this week. Amazing how little prayers like this are answered.

Thanks, Allie. Miss you baby.

Alice Mae Bennett ("Allie") was born around May of 2003. She came home to us in July. On March 10, 2005, she became ill with a condition called mesenteric torsion or volvulus. It is a twisting of the small intestine which is nearly impossible to diagnose. Once symptoms begin it is usually too late to save the intestine by surgical means. There are no known ways to prevent it and its causes are also unknown. It is extremely rare, especially in medium-size females like Allie. It is more common in males of large breeds, like German Shepherds.

Allie was a sweet, happy and loving soul. I will miss her every day. Thanks for giving us these last two years, little girl. We'll always treasure them.

The other day I was driving through Birch Bay...(yes, I am back up here_) and I smelled My Moose the way he always smelled after the bay and before the rinse. I felt like he was in his seat once again. My God I miss him. Pamela

Dear Jenny, I am so glad that you got such a sign from Allie. I am so glad you got a glimpse or Allie in looking at Lucy. You see so many of us might get signs like that but some either don't admit that it is a sign or might not know that it is when it is.

Just like I told Snookie should she ever come and visit me through any furbaby to smile that smile where she showed all her bottom teeth. Well I don't know if all schnauzers smile that way but Schnitzel smiled the same way the other day. So I think it could have been my Snookie stopping in to say hi and that she loves and misses me.
Love, Ann

My girls went to the Rainbow Bridge 6 weeks and 3 days apart.
Snookie had cushing's disease, and later developed diabetes. Both had cancer, Snookie had cancer of the liver, and Chili Bean had cancer of the pallet. Chili Bean was our son's chihuahua but we kept her often throughout her life and she stayed with us for the last 9 months of her life. Chili Bean also had asthma and heart failure. We will see you in Heaven my precious darlings.

Jenny, Allie is working through both Lucy & Norah. She's making her self known and they're letting her use them to do it. I love this!! Inky does it with Solo... Yesterday I looked at her across the room and, for some reason, I said... I know you're Inky right now, so get over here so I can kiss you.

That litte runt came flying over and pounced me on the couch sticking her little face right in mine. I though my husband was going to fall over!

These are the wonderful, magical things they show us they're capable of. They NEVER do leave us.

Hugs,

Pat
