Young lady, whoever you may be,
I thank you from my aching heart.
You took those precious birds of mine
When cir%%stances forced us apart.

I know you'll love them as much as I
And give them all your gentle care.
And Danny Boy and Cindy too
Will return that love beyond compare.

Danny will whistle a cheerful song
And Cindy, sweet Cindy, in yhour ear
Will whisper sweet nothings that to me
Made her precious, made her dear.

For yet awhile, I grieve my loss
And sorry seems to cancel joy,
Yet down the way, someday will come
A little girl bird, or perhaps a boy

Our tiels went to a small pet shop where they were kept together and would not be sold separately. A 15 year old girl went in with her parents to buy a ##atiel. She feel instantly in love with Danny and Cindy and they went home immediately with her. I do not know who she is or where she lives, but I am sure my birds are well loved and someday I will have another bird.

"I cried for all the pets"

Dearest Alice I loved reading your poems and would like to let you know that I have had birds given to me by people that could no longer look after them.
Two doves both female that ‘I’ have had longer than their life expectancy who continue to lay eggs in the hope of a little one, I don’t have the heart to let them know its impossible.
Two red beaked finches who would cuddle up with the doves one in between and one on the end.
And a green finch that also cuddled up with the doves when she could get in.
I'm sure the doves fostered all the finches, sadly they have now passed.
I assume from your husbands age and from what you say that you have many years of experiencing the losses that we are experiencing and trying to come to terms with for the first time, and I'm so sorry to hear of your husbands declining health.
The 15 year old girl is lucky to have parents that allow her to have pets and I'm sure that they will be guiding her on their care and attention.
And I'm sure that Danny and Cindy are giving her much joy and have already stolen her heart.
God bless you
Love Sue

Alice,

The hardest choices we ever have to make are regarding love. And choosing one love over another is never easy.

It was wonderful that the young woman will now grow up with two feathered companions. And one day, when they pass, both of you will share two tiny guardian angels.
