Hi All
Last night I had the most extraordinary and wonderful dream.
It was fleeting but so real....

It was a simple scene, taking place in a nondescript day. I opened my car door and on the passenger seat was my little Bicky curled up in a ball. He looked at at me with with happiness and relief, his little tail wagging. He appeared as he did a year or so before he passed; a little older but healthy.

I remember I stood looking at him and thinking to myself "this is impossible, Bicky is dead". But then I thought "I don't care how unreal this is, I'll take it". I then reached over to him and hugged him tightly. His snout nuzzling my neck. His warm breath massaging my neck, just as we would do countless times in our all-too-short time together. I felt so connected with him, so complete and content.
Then I woke up.
But instead of that disappointed feeling one would think I would have after having my Bicky and then losing him again, I felt warm and thankful.
At first I concluded that it was just a dream, but later on in the day, it occurred to me that perhaps it was Bicky's way of making contact with me.
The universe is full of wonders and I believe anything and everything's possible.

This has given my such great comfort.
Anyway, I thought I would share it with all of you.

I am so happy for you, Mark! What a wonderful experience. I, too, have had several real dreams with my Diva dog who recently died. They're so real I can feel her fur. And, like you, I realized that I was dreaming. But, I decided to just sit there and hug her and stroke her. I do believe that this is true contact from the other side even if people think I'm just dreaming. It was different. It's hard to explain - it was a knowing. When I dream I'm not aware that I'm dreaming. Or, I will realize I'm dreaming and wake up. However, the last dream I had with Diva I knew she had passed, I knew I was dreaming, but I communicated with her. I have never experienced a communication before. So, now here I am busy scouring the internet looking for people who have had similar experiences so I can believe that this is real and not in my head. So, thank you!

Hi Mark,
Thanks for sharing this. It is very uplifting and it's nice to see you have some comfort. I sometimes dream about my beloved Mollie (my cat, who I lost last year), and it feels every bit as real as you describe. I also dream about my grandparents, who have been gone for many years but I still miss them terribly. As with you, when I'm visited in a dream, it seems so real, and I, too, am thinking that it's just a dream, but wake up feeling better. I am not a religious person, but I really do feel as if I'm being visited by my loved ones, as a way of saying, "It's OK, don't feel sad." Oddly, it makes me very sad to write this, but when it happens, I feel very comforted. It's been many months since I lost Mollie (after she was with me for 16 years), and I miss her every day. I love when she visits me in my sleep. Take care, friend, and know that your Bicky loved you. Sweet dreams.

Hi, Mark, thank you so much for sharing with us how you're doing, and your wonderful dream experience with your beloved Bicky. This experience IS more than a dream - - it is real. Parapsychology studies prove that, when we are at rest - - most commonly asleep - - our minds can be more receptive to experiencing "visions." It doesn't happen at our will - - and not everyone has these types of experiences. Parapsychology studies prove that some people are more "receptive" than others - - but they don't know why, at least not yet. Parapsychology is a specific scientific study of the part of the brain that controls the senses and dreams - - it has nothing to do with the occult.

So, the bottom line is - - enjoy these dreams / visions you have with your beloved Bicky, my friend. They are a gift to you and your beloved Bicky from the angels.

I hope today is treating you, Naoko, and all your family kindly, my friend, and that you will have a peaceful evening blessed with your beloved Bicky's sweet Living Spirit to comfort you. Please know you, Naoko, and all your family are in my thoughts and prayers, and that I always look forward to knowing how you're doing and sharing your treasured memories of your beloved Bicky.

Peace and blessings,
moon_beam

Oh Mark, what a wonderful dream or should I say a visit from Bicky. I do believe he was in touch with you. You are truly blessed to have had that contact with your sweet Bicky. I know it was comforting to you.......The only dream that I had where I touched Mickey was not too long after he passed. I dreamed I picked him up and put him on the bed. His weight felt so real.

Thank you for sharing your dream with us.

God Bless,

Thank you so much Angel for your kind response.
It is so heartening to know that there are people who not only understand what I am feeling but also experience it.
I am so sorry to hear about Diva...but I am so happy to hear that she has been able to communicate with her.
I never ever expected to be able to communicate with Bicky through a dream. I always thought I would have to wait until I passed away myself to meet him face to face again. But I truly feel it was some form of contact....And who knows? Maybe I am communicating with much more frequently (in my Dreams), but just don't remember the dreams.
I know to some people this may seem wacky or even "sad"...I consider myself a intelligent, rational person, just with an open mind and faith.
Thank you again Angel for your support. Your name suits you!
Yours , Mark (and Bicky)

Dear Saddaddy
Thank you so much for your post. Firstly, let me tell you how sorry I am to learn of your loss of Mollie. Losing a loved one after 16 years must be truly devastating. I hope you can find comfort in your dreams with Mollie (and of course your grand parents). And you too, please take care and know that Mollie loved you too.
Yours (Mark and Bicky)

Dear Moonbeam
Thank you so much for your reply. Your information on parapsychology is fascinating to me and very much appreciated. I choose to believe that this a real experience and will forever cherish it is a gift.i now look forward to falling asleep at night in hopes of holding Bicky again (and again).
Your unwavering support these last two years is both so much appreciated and inspiring.
Yours, Mark (and Bicky)

Dear LovemyMickey
Thank you so much for your reply. You dreamed of Mickey? I am sure it must have been a wonderful experience.
I am sure you will have contact with Mickey again (perhaps when you least expect it). I never really expected this to happen, so I guess patience is key.
I truly believe Mickey is with you in some form as I write this. And I hope Mickey can make it over to yours dreams again sooner rather than later. Remember, it took Bicky more than two years to make his first visitation (that I know of) to me.
Thank you so much for your continuing support....It means a lot to me.
Yours, Mark. ( and Bicky)

Hello Mark,

I just have to share this with you since you and few others are the only ones who would believe this. Last night, I got in bed to read as usual. My cat Chloe sat on my chest. I was petting her with one hand and reading "Animals in the Afterlife" on my Kindle. I heard a stirring next to my bed where Diva used to sleep. Then I heard a distinct sigh. It was Diva's sigh that she often did right before she was ready to sleep. My heart sped and I'm thinking I'm really losing it right now. The University of Minnesota has this pdf that you can download about coping with the loss of your animal companion. It states people often have hallucinations. So, that's what I was thinking...at first. Then Chloe's eyes opened wide. She stopped purring and went over to the edge of the bed and peered over. That was validation thate heard exactly what I had heard. It was wonderful but painful at the same time.

Well, I guess all this talk about dreams caused me to dream about Mickey this afternoon during my nap. I dreamed that I heard Mickey's daddy saying, I'm going to go lay down. He was walking down the hallway toward the bedroom and Mickey was following him. It was very brief and I woke up. It seemed so real.

I have dreamed of Mickey several times but I can never see his cute little face, just his body. I never get to pet him either. The only time I dreamed I touched him was when I picked him up and put him on the bed.

How wonderful!

Angel, I am so glad that you could make contact with Diva. I am sure Chloe was as surprised and happy as you were.
I am beginning to see that the more you are open to such wonders, the more they will become a part of your life.

And LovemyMickey
I guess Mickey wanted to get into the action too!
Please don't be discouraged by being unable to touch Mickey. The truth is, I have had very few dreams (that I know of) of Bicky, which is strange because he continues to encompass a large part of my love and energy. And Bicky's dream the other came completely unexpected. Perhaps you are dreaming of Mickey Mickey and having contact but don't remember?
Now when I fall asleep I wonder if "Mr. Handsome" will drop by to say hi. Maybe tonight, maybe tomorrow night., maybe next year. Who knows? The important thing (for me) is knowing that we are still connected. I am sure Mickey will let you know somehow. perhaps even indifferent or more subtle ways.
Thinking of you and Mickey, Mark and Bicky

Hi Mark....You're probably right that I may have more dreams of Mickey and not remember them. Sometimes I do realize I have dreamed of something, but can't remember what it was.....Yes, we're all connected with our furbabies, through LOVE. Nothing is stronger than that, in my opinion.

Have a blessed day/night, Mark, and have sweet dreams of your precious Bicky.

Here is something I came across that might be of interest:
8 characteristics of true visitation dreams
True “visitation dreams” are actually very easy to identify because they are very different than “everyday dreams.”

Characteristics of most (but not all) visitation dreams include the following:

Characteristic #1: The most important characteristic of a true visitation dream is that it feels “real.” It will also be very vivid.
Characteristic #2: If you have to ask whether the visitation dream was really a visitation dream, then it probably was NOT a visitation dream. They are so real and vivid that you won’t have to ask this question. When you do have a visitation dream, you may wonder if it was truly real; but in your heart or gut, you will “know” it was real.
Characteristic #3: Because they are so real and so vivid, you will remember visitation dreams very clearly for days, months, years . . . probably for your entire lifetime!
Characteristic #4: The person (or animal) will almost always appear in the dream to be completely healthy and behaving in a loving manner. They will rarely appear sick or injured. They will never be angry, disappointed, depressed, or punishing. They will be “whole, complete, and perfect” because they are now reconnected with God/Source energy.
Characteristic #5: Whether or not they speak to you verbally in the dream, they will communicate very clearly. (NOTE: As you’ll see in the next two examples, in neither of the dreams did actual verbal communication occur; the messages were conveyed telepathically and were completely clear.)
Characteristic #6: When they do communicate (either verbally or non-verbally), it isn’t because they want to engage in idle “chit-chat.” It isn’t easy for deceased loves ones to enter a dream. They come with a purpose, and they will convey the message and then be gone.
Characteristic #7: Most often, their messages fall into the category of “reassurance.” They come to let you know that they are fine and that they want you to be happy. Occasionally, they will come with a warning; however, when giving a warning, they will give you loving support and you will feel reassured by their presence.
Characteristic #8: After a visitation dream, when you wake up, you will often be filled with a sense of peace and love.

Hi, Mark, thank you so very much for sharing these "visitation" characteristics with us - - they are RIGHT ON!! As I read through them I am smiling and feeling a deep warmth of peace and contentment in my heart for the times I have been blessed with various "visitation" experiences from time to time. They are indeed very special experiences.

My dear Moonbeam
Thank you so much for your wonderful reply. Yes, I can't believe how spot on the characteristics are with my visitation with Bicky.
And thank you so much for mentioning Naoko and my family. She is doing very well....We are a very happy couple...though we are both still getting over the passing of our "child" Bicky.
Thank you so much again for your continued support.

Hi Mark,

Thank you for sharing the "characteristics of true visitation dreams" article with us. They are so true.....I had a dream the other night where I was carrying a little white fluffy dog in my arms. It belonged to a little girl and she was giving it to a couple. She wanted me to hand it to them through a window. It was clean and healthy. It wasn't Mickey, so I don't know what that meant.

I'm glad Naoko and your family are doing well. It's good to have someone to share your grief with and feels the same way. Bicky was so blessed the day you and Naoko found him and gave him a wonderful life. May God Bless You Both.

What an interesting dream you had! I am sure there is a special meaning in there somewhere. I am starting to believe (accept) there are no coincidences and that everything is connected.
And thank you for your kind words regarding Bicky being "blessed" to have being found by us. I still wonder how unbelievably lucky it was for Naoko and me to be walking along that road at that exact time Bicky looked through the fence. It was such a sweltering day, I am sure Bicky would not have been able to survive much longer. But the truth is, Naoko and I were the ones that were truly blessed. He gave our lives so much love and happiness. And you are right, I am very lucky to have somebody to share my memories and love for Bicky and to continue to help me navigate through this grief of mine. I must admit, she is much stronger than me....though she loved Bicky every ounce as much as I did. I was inconsolable for the first first month or so after Bicky passed, but she got me through it...As did you and the other kind souls on this website. Thank you so much!

Hi Mark,

I have missed seeing you on the board. I hope you, Naoko, and all the family are doing well. I hope you are feeling better during this grieving process. I am doing well, still missing my Mickey as much as ever, but trying hard to remember the good times we had...............Have you had any more dreams? Sometimes I see Mickey in a dream or another dog.

Mark, I think of you and Bicky often. I'm sure Bicky and Mickey are waiting for all of us to join them. Have a blessed day and enjoy the memories of your precious Bicky.........God Bless...

Hi Mark

Of course I will ask both Gretta (the kindest chocolate lab who ever lived) and Rufus (my beloved half black lab/half Newfie) to carry a mseeage to Bicky that his dad misses him more than there are stars in the sky and loves him twice as much as that.

No, Mark, you aren't crazy. When our very special animals go home to the Perfect World, they leave a piece of their hearts with us and they take aa piece of our hearts with them. It's the missing piece of our hearts that keeps on hurting. And i think the hurt is in proportion to the love we have for them and they have for us.

Someday we will meet them again, exchange pieces, and live forever in the Perfect World.

And one more thing I have found out about our loves living in the perfect World: as spirits they can be anywhere even if we can't see or her or touch them. And they can be two places at once, too. They are still on their jobs, watching over us, guiding our steps and most importtantly, loving us and receiving our love exactly as always.

Sometimes tears are just behind our eyes for weeks on end .... it's not crazy, it's love.

Gretta's mom and Rufufs's mom, too
