Hello to everyone. This one got me way, way, way bad and I didn't even have to do anything. It's been around for about 2 months.

To save time, I'm going to copy and paste what I emailed to my friend Debbie so she could pass it along while I'm still cleaning up.

Here you go ...

Hi Debbie,

About the rogue program posing as an anti virus/anti spyware called My Security Shield.
Please click on the very long link below for a brief explanation of what it is and so on.

Note: Here at LS, I'll make it clickable for you ...

About the Rogue Program "My Security Shield"

<<Snippet>>

My Security Shield Description: My Security Shield is a rogue security program that should not be trusted. My Security Shield can enter a system via malicious online scanners, malicious websites or sneaky Trojans. Once My Security Shield is inside a system, it will create fake malware files and run a bogus system scan which will detect those files as dangerous malware that can only be removed with the “full version” of My Security Shield. Users are advised to ignore all security notifications displayed by My Security Shield and have the rogueware removed from your system upon detection.

<<End Snippet>>

Here's another explanation from Wikipedia online encyclopedia ...

Wikipedia Explains 'My Security Shield' Rogue Program

Here's one way to remove it, but you really gotta know what you're doing ...

How to Uninstall/Remove My Security Shield Virus

There is only one program that will get rid of it.

Here's the link to the only program that rids you of that hideous rogue program. First, the link to scan ...

SpyHunter Virus Scan

But, one must purchase SpyHunter in order to get rid of "My Security Shield" rogue program and other viruses, infections, etc ...

SpyHunter Download Here

Did you see the image on the screen at the above link's video presentation ...
That is the screen shot for My Security Shield. Oy!

Here are a few videos. Most of them are boring, but this first one is a must! Look at how rogue programs like My Security Shield creep into your PC and what you can do to prevent it. And, it did all that to my computer ... All over my computer. The "offer" popped up out of nowhere. You don't even have to click it to scan or click it to close it. Once it's crept in, then you're toast! All one does is to click on an unsuspecting Website, or Google anything at all then click on selection you wish to view. That's all it takes and your PC then is loaded with many infections, viruses (including Trojans), other critical malware. It's horrible!

Also, the rogue program's prompt keeps popping up every couple minutes, makes a loud screaming noise, darkens your PC screen, tries to get you to install it. Click on No! Then it asks: "Are you sure you want to remain unprotected?" When that comes up: Click on Yes!
I am serious. Please pay careful attention. Oh, this presentation also has "My Security Shield" on the screen, too ...

Why Windows Updates Are So Very Important!!!

More videos on how to remove, but you've got to be an expert. Word! Here ...

My Security Shield Activated (Rogue)

Debs, it messed up my PC way bad, but I'm pretty sure that I've got most back together now. What a nightmare! Please, spread the word. Okay? I sure hope and pray this never happens to you or anyone else. Honestly, it's gawd awful bad.

Big Hug and Take Care!

Love,
Dottie xoxoxox

Please move this post if I've put it in the wrong area. Thank you much!

let me reiterate, this bad news is NOT from our site.

Thank you much, Mr. Cohn. I ought to have made it clear myself that it has nothing to do with your site. It does not.

It crept in when I was either Googling for Angel, Fairy or Fantasy images on the Web. Or, it may been when I was Googling a famous Physicist. No, it wasn't Hawking. I fear to give his name just in case someone else goes hunting. Wait. It's best if I give his name so you'll be cautioned. Both were Google Web Searches and the Physicist is Dr. Michio Kaku. He is wonderful!

Anyway, that's when the rogue program crept in. As soon as it did, I ran my Malwarebytes and there were 107 infections! Cleaned every one. It is a great program and it is free. There are several Malwarebytes programs, but I've found this one to be the best ...

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

The above even allows you to right click your mouse on any of your desktop shortcuts to scan your programs within a second to see if they got infected, too. Cleans them pronto. Very good idea to download Malwarebytes for just in case because it helped me a lot.

Thank you again, Mr. Cohn. Many Bright Blessings to you and yours!

thanks Dottie, Malwarebytes is by far the best...i suggest buying it since the paid version comes with real time monitoring and updates.

also, if you use firefox browser, generally google will mark the site as malicious (ie, enter at your own risk).

Thank you so very much again, MD. I have both IE (Internet Explorer) and Mozilla Firefox browsers. I'm going to go in and make Firefox my default browser right now. I owe you a big hug for that great information! Okay, how about a SMILE. biggrin.gif <--- Me to you.

Thanks and here I go >>>
