A rare spring blizzard in Texas gives my kids a good romp.

My Birga got into my purse and ate two full packs of Trident gum with Xylitol. Xylitol can cause a massive insulin release, hypoglycemia, possibly coma, and death if untreated. They are watching her... ready to give her iv. glucose if she needs it.

I'm so fraught I posted in the wrong place...sorry.

I went for a long drive today. The sun was bright; the day unexpectedly warm. and I figured some UVs in my eyes would help my depression, and if not, then at least, Charles couldn't see me crying. Nothing eventful happened on my drive.

But, I was met at the door by C, apologizing for breaking the little vase containing the flower arrangement the vets sent. The thing is, as nearly as I can tell, he wasn't anywhere near it when it broke, He was standing at the stove, cooking himself a hamburger, with his back turned to the opposite counter where the vase was. My husband is a slim, agile, sure-footed person......I haven't seen him break a half-dozen things in twenty-five years. Still less when his back was turned, and he wasn't even touching the object ( he keeps thinking he brushed it with a sleeve or something ). From the mess he described cleaning up. It sounds more like the little vase exploded, and spread itself all over the kitchen.

I've been so heartbroken and fragile, I've been trying to guard against magical, and wishful thinking, but I do wonder....did my Beekie do that?

So Bub, Dad woke me up this morning with that " I'm so pleased with myself " smirk. And after about an hour of being insufferably smiley, he tricked me into going out to the drive.

And what to my wondering eyes, did I find there but the mother-of-all Harleys...(I know...every time we lose one of you his screws get looser)? It is a blue Harley(used of course)...and according to the little brass plaque it is....E.G.B.K.... you guessed it... my Electra Glide in Blue Kat.

Can you pictured your four-eyed, academic, of a mother on a Harley ? Well since mommy's limbs are long and strong ( like yours ), I sure I'm going to make a fine figure on it...just as soon as I have the courage to learn to start it. Pictures later.

We miss you, Baby!

BK,

I had to send you through that door alone... They wouldn't let me go with you. mad.gif

Mind you, I new you could handle yourself. I knew on the strength of your huge white feet of spirit, your boldness, curiosity, and feline ferocity, you would cake-walk the whole thing...right into eternity. I hope you did not look back at me.

Your mom was a wreck... sending my kid off to school for that big first day, knowing when you returned you'd be changed forever... no longer my precious, jealously watched little cub, but forever part of the larger (unseen) world, and belonging to yourself alone, answerable only to God.

My love, unchanged, waits here for you, until I may join you. Stop for a while, now and then, between cosmic errands, if just to see if I've changed your old room.

forever your, wub.gif
