Memories and Heartache They have left Behind

Oh' how they have left us so many memories to treasure
But the heartache they have left, is more then we can measure

All we can do, is take one day at a time
And try to recount, the memories they have left behind

They gave us so much in life, yet left us so empty in death
For it hurts to breath, with each and every breath

Our angels may have been all different, some young and some old
But they enriched our lives, that is worth more then any amount of gold

They were so special, to all of us in everyway
For that is why its hard, to go on each and everyday

But we must try to keep thier memory alive, and in our heart
For they wouldn't want us to forget them, just because they had to part

They will be close and with us forever, no matter were we go
Because they left so many memories, and our heart tells us so

So lets try to remember the love and smiles, they gave to us while they were here
For they wouldn't want us to be sad, and to shed so many tears

When day turns to night, and we look into the sky with the stars so bright
Our angels are looking down over us, and never far from our sight

May we continue to comfort each other, through our loss and grief
And hopefully one day, we will smile again and find some peace

Hugs to All

I was just going through some of my post and came across this poem I wrote back in april. I do not even remember writing it. I go back from time to time and read some of the things I have written and alot of it I dont remember. I guess through my pain and grief some of it is such a blur. I wanted to bring it back up to the front of the post for some new members. I hope it brings some comfort to the new members and to the older ones who had not read it. My angel max is who got me started on writing poems. I would just sit and cry and cry and through my tears I just started writing how I was feeling. It has been great therapy and has also amazed me when going back to read some of them. I had never written anything until my angel left me. I hope we all here really find peace with in our heart.

Hugs to Everyone

Well, I just read the poem for the first time. Yep, it says it all. Lately I haven't been able to do any replies...life has showed up and it's too overwhelming. Thanks for the nice writing.

Your welcome Dennis. I know how you feel life isnt living without our angels, they brought so much life to our lives. They gave us a reason to rush home to let them out, feed them and they were just sooo happy to see us. Now we come home to empty homes no tail wagging no licks on our face no barks. Life will never be the same without them. I will be thinking of you.

Hugs

The poem is perfect. It made me cry and smile all at the same time.

Thank you.

Cheryl I am sorry it made you cry, I cried the whole time while writing it. But i am glad that it did bring a smile. I hope for the day for all of us when there is no more tears of sadness just tears of joy that we were blessed to have had our angels in our lives. Hope you manage to get your pictures downloaded.

Hugs
