Yoda, it's been so long. Still love and miss you bunches. We have adopted 2 more rescues...not to take your place, but make life more bearable. Chewey has joined you now. Your precious lives are much to short. Wait for me at the bridge.

Love Mom

Dear Theresa

I have read all your posts about precious Yoda and tears are streaming down my face. Gretta, the kindest chocolate lab who ever loved and my first dog as an adult, a rescue dog who had been wandering the frozen streets of Minnesota starving, has been in the Perfect World for almost four years and not a day goes by that I don't miss her. Then Rufus, a half black lab/half Newfie came to me - I only had 21 months with my Big Black Dog. I was half a continent away taking care of my sister who had terminal cancer and Rufus was at his foster mom, who loved him as much as I do. One day he wouldn't eat so she took him to the University of MN vet school clinic where they diagnosed him with spleen cancer. This is not a solid tumor but a mass of tangled new overgrowth of blood vessels and can't be operated on or the dog will just bleed out. I had to make the heartbreaking decision by phone - and my Rufus, like your precious Yoda, passed over the Rainbow Bridge all alone. Although I'm sure he has long forgiven me, the pain of having that happen never goes away. Please know that my heart is with you and I am inspired that you keep writing to beautiful Yoda after so many years.

God bless you,

Gretta and Rufus's mom
