I have been through this before and it doesn't get any easier. I lost my Yorkie, Jasper on Sunday night.
He was diagnosed with renal failure at the beginning of October . He was doing pretty good then just
went down hill very fast. I cannot stop crying over him. I miss him so much. The other times when
I had to go through this I had my husband to cry on and him to hold me. He passed away 3 years
ago and I just feel worse than ever. Jasper was all I had left. He was 14 and lived a good life but
it still feels like is turning a knife in my stomach and the tears just keep coming. Thanks for
listening.....I just had to talk to somebody who understands

Hi, drifty, please permit me to offer you my sincerest sympathies in the physical loss of your beloved Jasper. Losing a companion is never easy regardless of the circumstances or how long we are blessed with the privilege of their company.

Drifty, please know that I do perfectly understand how deep your sorrow is. Several years ago I went through a similar situation with two beloved companions who were gifts to me from my mother. Within a year of each other both beloved companions transitioned home to the angels to be with their "grandmother" who had left this physical realm several years previously from tragic circumstances. When my beloved Samson and Holly joined the angels it was as if I was once again grieving for my mother in addition to my beloved companions - - and the grief was truly unbearable. So please let me try to reassure you that what you are feeling is very normal deep grief intensified with the connection your beloved Jasper shared with you and your husband.

Drifty, as you already know this grief journey is one of the most painful experiences you will know on this side of eternity. It doesn't matter if it's our first experience our our thousandth - - each grief journey is unique because each relationship we have with each of our beloved companions is uniquely individual. I promise you, drifty, it won't always be this way. At some point in time your deep grief will ease and you will be able to remember the good times that not only you and beloved Jasper shared together, but also the wonderful memories you share of you and your beloved husband and your beloved Jasper with a happy heart. But until this time comes for you, drifty, please know we are here for you for as long an as often as you need us.

The "good news" in the midst of all this sorrow is that the love bond you and your beloved Jasper share is eternal - - it is not restricted to the physical laws of time and space. Your beloved Jasper's sweet Living Spirit is always and forever a part of your heart and memories - - he is always and forever a heartbeat close to you.

Thank you so much for honoring us in sharing your beloved Jasper with us, drifty. I do know from first hand experience that when our hearts are entrenched in deep grief there are no adequate words in any language that can soothe the searing pain of sorrow. Still I hope the words I share with you will offer you some measure of comfort and encouragement. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers, and please let us know how you're doing.

Peace and blessings,
moon_beam

Thank you Moon_Beam for your comforting words. Yesterday was 1 week that I lost Jasper. I am having a very bad day
today. I have to go tomorrow to pick up his cremains. I just want to hold him one more time, just see him one more time. I just can't quit crying today.
I know in time it will get better but for right now I feel so lost without him.

Hi, drifty, thank you so much for sharing with us how you're doing. Indeed, getting our beloved companion's ashes is yet another "reality check" that they are no long physically with us in the way our hearts and arms long for them to be. Our journey with our beloved companions is never long enough for we will always want just one more minute, one more hour, one more day - - one more life time with them. It has been 13 months now since my beloved Noah joined the angels and my heart is still grief stricken - - yet I am thankful that he is now no longer suffering - - that he is healed and restored to his former youthfulness in the company of the angels and his other fur family members. Grief is a two sided coin - - there will always be an ache in our hearts and an emptiness in our lives because of the physical absence of our beloved companion. Yet we will always treasure the many cherished memories we share with our beloved companion knowing their sweet Living Spirit is forever a part of our hearts and memories - - they are always and forever a heart beat close to us.

Drifty, I do so know from first hand experience how broken your heart feels. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers, and please let us know how you're doing.

Peace and blessings,
moon_beam
