I don't feel like typing much, except to say that one month ago today, my handsome Hannibal passed away very young, and quite unexpectedly of heart disease. As I type this, my other 13-year old baby, Murfy, is sitting on my lap licking my hand. I feel bad that he has no idea where Hannibal went, and he's very much missing him too. They loved to play and romp together. The day he was sick, after I brought him home from the first vet, (to keep him at home overnight since they closed up at 5PM) I had kept the other cat's away from Hannibal. We got up early to take him to the emergency care center in the same hospital he had his appointment in 50 miles away, but he died on the way to the hospital. It was so dark, but I couldn't hear him breathing, and knew something was wrong...

Murfy has a vet appointment tomorrow for a check-up and I'm really paranoid of what I may hear. sad.gif

I am very sorry to hear about Hannibal. My dog, Bailey, passed away from a heart problem at a young age also. I understand your grief and pain. In the end, Hannibal made the decision for you--you did not have to decide what to do. Good thoughts are going out to you and Murfy for your visit to the vet's tomorrow. Have faith that all will be well. I am sure both you and Murfy will be hurting for a while, but remember that others will be thinking of you. Take care. wub.gif

I am so sorry to hear of your loss - and thanks too for you kind words about my post. Thinking of you, and hoping for good news from the vet.

Dear Inessence,

Your Hannibal must have died around the time I lost Theodore, my precious cat, one month ago tonight. I'm sorry. It sounds like it was sudden for you too. It's so hard eh? How do we go on without these sweet angels in our lives after so many years? I feel like my whole life foundation has been shaken!!!!! My Emily who is 16 keeps looking for Theo. Her grief is deep as is mine. We miss him so. There is a great void in our house and lives. From what folks are telling me though, time and tears are going to help the healing. Take care of yourself.

Murfy's check-up went OK. I brought him to a new facility having the latest equipment and technology. He'll need a good teeth cleaning and to have some kind of growth removed from his jawline. The vet thinks it's probably a cyst, but can't be sure until she cuts into it. Murfy's next appointment is Oct 28. unsure.gif
