One week ago today we said goodbye to our beloved Thunder. The pain of losing him is overwhelming. I can no longer see him when I think of him. I went through this when I was widowed 18 years ago, for ten years I could not picture my late husband when I thought of him. The subconscious mind blocks things that are traumatic and just too painful to deal with, I know that in time iimages of our beloved Thunder will slowly begin to return.

I hurt....

Hi, Shadow Dancer, thank you so much for sharing with us how you're doing, and your and your beloved Thunder's one week angel-versary. Right now, and for quite awhile, your hours and days will be counted by "this time" reminders, and your heart will break anew. This grief adjustment journey is very painful both physically and emotionally. When we are deeply grieving it is very normal to feel alone - - even when we are surrounded by people. But I assure you, Shadow Dancer, you are NOT alone - - for we are here for you, with you, and beside you through every step of your grief journey.

I hope today is treating you kindly, Shadow Dancer, and that you will have a peaceful evening blessed with your beloved Thunder's sweet Living Spirit to comfort you. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers, and please let us know how you're doing.

Peace and blessings,
moon_beam

Dear Shadow Dancer

Please accept my most sincere condolences in the homegoing of your beloved Thunder. While you will be in this state of shock while your mind is protecting your body from things too hurtful to think about, Thunder's beautiful spirit will be right by your side, doing what he always did, protecting you, guiding your steps and most of all sharing love with you.

I'm so sorry you've had to deal with so much tragedy in your life. Remember that here at Lightning Strike we all stand together and form a protective and supportive circle, especially when a new person joins our unbelieveably lucky group. Blessed is a better word - blessed by sharing the love of a truly incredible animal - a soulmate. And someday we will all be reunited in the Perfect World (some people call it heaven) and, as the old song says, "What a Day of Rejoicing That Will Be".

Stay well and move slowly for now. Know that all your brothers and sister here love you and grieve with you.
