To my baby girl, Daisy:

Well, the day has arrived sweetheart. A year ago today, you left us to join the angels. Not a day has passed since, where you haven't been in my thoughts and heart. It took me almost a year to get to this point but I now realize that you left a part of you behind. I still feel you so strongly. You're still a big part of my present life. Your essence is still here, and so is your love. I promise to forever keep you alive through my memories and love for you.

Of course I still miss your physical presence though. How could I not? I miss your cuddles. I miss your scent. I miss your warmth. I miss your Daisy-kisses. I miss your expressive little face. I miss how happy you looked whenever you were eating your favourite foods, or getting strokes and attention off your mummy or daddy. I miss how you thought you were a dog, and would curl up in your bed, cuddling your teddy bears, or how you would follow me around the house. I miss how you would shake your huge ears whenever you were annoyed with something. I could go on and on about all the things I miss.

But I truly believe that I will see you again one day. A love this strong cannot just end.

I want to thank you for making the five years I shared with you some of the most wonderful years of my life. I want to thank you for being the most loving, trusting, sweet, affectionate, intelligent, funny, little bunny there ever was. I want to thank you for making me a better person a more loving and open person. Thank you for bringing daddy and I even closer than we already were. Daddy misses you a lot too sweetheart. He said that he could still cry a river whenever he thinks of you. It must be so hard for him because he keeps it all inside, and he hasn't had the support of this wonderful forum. Please watch over him too and let him feel your love.

Well, until we meet again my sweet baby girl ... I will keep the love and memories close to my heart.
Daddy and I love you so very much, and always will. *I'm holding you now and kissing your head.... I hope you can feel me*

Today, my sister had a reading from a Medium. He told her that my granddad (who passed a couple of years ago) had come through. The Medium said that my granddad was happy and that he was... "With his best friend, Joey." My sister sat, puzzled, trying to think of the names of my granddads close friends. After a while, she gave in, and told him that she didn't think my granddad had a friend named Joey. The Medium smiled. "Yes, he did. And he's with him now. He's sitting on his shoulder." Again, more puzzled looks from my sister ... and then the Medium finally explained ... "Joey is a Budgie."

Realization hit, and my sister said her eyes filled with tears. Of course! Joey and granddad were best friends they adored each other and were inseparable. Joey used to sit on my granddads shoulder for hours and they'd watch TV together, and Joey would try to steal any snack that my granddad happened to be eating. Joey passed about 8 years before my granddad did. Now I know that he waited for him, and that he was there to greet him at the gates, and now they are together for all eternity.

As my sister told me this, I felt such warmth in my heart, and I immediately thought of my Daisy and of this forum. It gave me hope and reassurance that our beloved companions really are waiting for us on the other side and that we will indeed be reunited with them one day. I wanted to share this story with all of you especially those in the early intense stages of grief, in hopes that it will provide you all with the same sense of comfort and peace.

We will see them again someday. But in the meantime, they are still with us, always. In our hearts and in our memories. We never really lose them.

Wishing you all well,
Cheryl xx

I know this part of the forum isn't very well-used, but I do hope at least a few people will read this. I have been following this story for a while now. Almost a year ago, a dog was taken from his family by Belfast City Council because he LOOKED like a "Pitbull type" (Pitbulls are illegal in Belfast). He is being kept in terrible, inhumane conditions, and has just recently been sentenced to his death!!

The dog - Lennox - is infact a Labrador/American Bull dog cross. He is a much loved family dog, who has NEVER hurt anybody, and NEVER showed any signs of aggression. His devasted family have been campaigning to get him back ever since. The story is truly heartbreaking, and my heart goes out to Lennox and his poor family.

Please visit the website: http://www.savelennox.co.uk/ and show your support, and sign the petition. If you have Facebook, please "like" the "Save Lennox" page.

This has to be stopped!!!

Thanks, Cheryl x

I want to believe
In Heaven's Sweet Gate
Where you, my Angel, eagerly await
For me to join you
Together again
For an eternity of love
Free from worry or pain

I'd spend all my time
Just holding you near
Kissing your nose
Scratching your ear

We'd play all the games
That you loved to play
With no interruptions
No, "Mummy can't stay"

And oh what a joy
How happy I'd be
Finally complete
Finally free

Yes, I DO believe
In Heaven's Sweet Gate,
Where you, my Angel, eagerly await
For me to join you
Together again
For an eternity of love
Free from worry or pain

I'd like to thank moon_beam who, in a way, was an inspiration for this poem. You frequently mention in your posts about "Heaven's Sweet Gate" and I kind of fell in love with the idea. I was just lying in bed (it's 12:40 am over here) thinking about it, then this poem popped into my head. I had to turn the laptop on to write it.

And to my sweetheart Daisy: I look forward to the day when you are there to meet me at the Gate smile.gif I love you.

I was just listening to some songs on You Tube, and when I looked to the right at the video recommendations, I was suprised to see a song called "I Will Come To You" by Hanson. Now, I haven't thought about, or listened to, Hanson for years. But I did used to be a big fan back when I was a kid. I have no idea why this song would pop up, as I didn't put anything remotely related to it in the search engine. However, when I listened to the lyrics, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. It was like Daisy had a message for me.

I wanted to share the lyrics with everyone, as I found them a huge comfort, and hope you all do, too. I hope anyone who comes to this forum in search of comfort finds this thread and reads it. And believes in their hearts that their baby is still with them, always.

When you have no light to guide you
And no one to walk to walk beside you
I will come to you
Oh I will come to you
When the night is dark and stormy
You won't have to reach out for me
I will come to you
Oh I will come to you

Sometimes when all your dreams may have seen better days
And you don't know how or why, but you've lost your way
Have no fear when your tears are fallin'
I will hear your spirit callin'
And I swear I'll be there, come what may

When you have no light to guide you
And no one to walk to walk beside you
I will come to you
Oh I will come to you
When the night is dark and stormy
You won't have to reach out for me
I will come to you
Oh I will come to you

I will come to you

'Cause even if we can't be together
We'll be friends now and forever
And I swear that I'll be there, come what may
When the night is dark and stormy
You won't have to reach out for me
I will come to you
Oh I will come to you

We all need somebody we can turn to
Someone who'll always understand
So if you feel that your soul is dyin'
And you need the strength to keep tryin'
I'll reach out and take your hand

I'll reach out and take your hand

Oh I will come to you
When you have no light to guide you
And no one to walk to walk beside you
I will come to you
Oh I will come to you
When the night is dark and stormy
You won't have to reach out for me
I will come to you
Oh I will come to you

Oh I will come to you
Oh I will come to you

I will come to you,
Oh I will come to you
