Hi everyone

It is one year today since I had to say goodbye to my old girl Topsy, she was 22 years and 4 months.
She was a very special cat and she had a wonderful long life. I loved her dearly from the day I got her at six weeks old to the day I had to let her go.
I got two kittens from the same litter but her brother Blackie died in 1991 from a very bad infection. She missed him very much, so I adopted Cleo, thats her in my avatar, she is 15.
2006 was not a good year for me I lost Byron to cancer in January and Topsy in May to old age.
I have good days and bad ones, tears are never far away but I try to remember all the good times. I know in my heart that I did my very best for them and they were loved beyond measure.
Here is a photo of Topsy taken 3 days before she died.
RIP my precious girl, Mummy loved you so much and you are missed every single day.

Thank you so much for sharing her picture..today must be a very hard day for you. 2006 sounds like it was extremely difficult.. too much loss. Topsy was 22 years old? That is amazing. I believe that's a testament to your love for her. How else could she have lived so long? I realize that 22 is a long life, and that older animals pass, but to me that means you had 22 years to love and depend on a huge soul now missing from your life. So I realize that the "she lived a long life" line doesn't help.

I can't imagine losing Blackie, Byron and Topsy..especially Byron and Topsy so close together. At least, though, they are together, watching over you and Cleo.

I am saying a prayer for you and for your babies. I know there are no words to take the pain away but my girl Maisie and I are sending warm thoughts...

That one year mark must have been very difficult, thanks for sharing your feelings with us. I feel for you, we both lost two cats in 2006, it was a bad year for both of us. Your Topsy lived a beautiful 22 this is wonderful and says a lot about the good care she must have had! Lots of love there! I'm glad you still have Cleo, loving a cat is therapeutic.
Bless you, hope all goes well to soothe your day.

A year is such a long time, and no time at all when you are missing them. Topsy was such a beautiful girl. Wow 22 you both were so lucky to share so much time together. So soon after Byron too.

It's so hard to lose two together like that. My Butch was 22 when he passed, 10 years ago, and his brother left us just 5 weeks later. I understand how hard it is. My heart goes out to you. The only thing that gave me comfort was thinking of them together, I hope you find comfort in that too.

I'm thinking of you at this sad time. You and your beautiful babies.

Love

Hi, Just came on to say a big Thanks to,
Mo & Maisies Mom----Toonie and Moose Mom

Thankyou for reading and responding to my tribute to Topsy, your kind words were most appreciated.

It was a very sad day for me but Topsy lived such a fortunate life, loved and pampered from day one. She never had a worry and lived a very relaxed life which must have helped with the longevity.
Cleo gave me lots of love yesterday and we got through the day together.
God bless you all, Cleo 1

One year anniversary should be very very tough. My little girl Hani has been in heaven for a month and a half now after thirteen years of life on the earth. Naturally it still hurts very much. Yesterday I was looking at some pictures of her, and when the picture of her drinking water from her pink water bowl caught my eye, it just broke my heart. I can't explain why that picture particularly saddened me so much more. I guess drinking water or eating food symbolizes the life or the will to live, while she, the life of her, is not here any more, at least on physical level, and perhaps that brought about such a sad emotion.
You and your Topsy were blessed with her great long life. And I'm sure she will always be with you, just like my Hani always will!
