Our 14 year old Springer Spaniel, Moosh, passed away on March 29, 2007.
I don't think I've ever felt so sad. We knew for some time that it was coming as she had severe arthritis and suffered a minor stroke 3 months ago. On the 27th of March she had another stroke and could barely stand on her own. She stopped eating and just laid behind her ###### chair. We took her to the vet fully knowing what he was going to suggest, which he did. The experience of being with her while she went to sleep is one we'd never change even though it was very hard in number of ways. We're dealing with it in our own ways. I'm posting on my blog about it: http://blog.mikebrowne.com/item/goodbye-old-friend http://blog.mikebrowne.com/item/missing-moosh My wife Carol is posting on hers: http://carolbrowne.com/index.php?itemid=1369 http://carolbrowne.com/index.php?itemid=1370 http://carolbrowne.com/index.php?itemid=1377 Thanks for reading. I really miss my friend. She's everywhere in this house, but nowhere. -------------------- Moosh: 1992 - 2007
We miss you and know you're waiting for us. |

I am sorry, it sounds like she was so loved by guys. We lost our Misty the first week of December, also knowing it was coming at some point. The first three weeks are so difficult, please check back here often for support.
It sounds like you took excellent care of her and she was so happy with you. It does get better over time, although I agree with everyone here that the loss never completely goes away..... I will keep yourself and your wife in my thoughts this week. Hang in there and know that you were a great parent to her. Hugs, Amy |
