Hi everyone, it's been 2 weeks since we had to put our beloved Simba to sleep, as he suddenly developed and enlarged heart and fluid on his lungs; he was just 5 yrs. old. I've had a hard time with knowing how to navigate this site, but with a little help from my friends here at L.S. I'm getting better at it. Simba was such a sweet adorable guy. He loved to be in the same room with us at all times, just like he was another person. He loved to have a great game of chase with my husband every night. When we first brought him home, whenever he woke up he would run to us, eyes half closed crying to be cuddled for a few mins. The things I will miss the most is his sleeping at my side and having him greet us at the door whenever we return home. I am so thankful he was in our lives and for this site and the kind people who have offered words of comfort to me. My heart breaks for everyone of us who lose our precious friends. My dad says that they are only on loan from God, for us to cherish and love. I really believe that to be true. Take good care.

It's going to take time--and eventually smiles will take the place of tears---I am very thankful that I found this site too--it helped me during a very terrible time when we lost Missy------

We are "cat collectors" so we have been thru this many times--and have many more times to go---but I would not trade it----maybe one day you will find another furbaby that will steal your heart---

Take care

Mary

I am very sorry to hear of your loss of your boy Simba. What kind of dog was he? From your post I can tell that you and your husband gave Simba a very loving home. I hope that you can comfort each other, by sharing the happy memories you made with Simba. Feel free to share some of those memories with us.

Take care and remember that Simba is always with you....he has a special place in your heart.

I am very sorry to read about your precious Simba. Simba seemed so young to have had these health issues. Today, is the second week that my 18 year old pom passed on with the same illness. Like yourself.....I miss her so much and though I am past the part of being shocked, the heartache is endless. The heart break we endure is so tragic.....we feel at first that we need to suffer, without end. But, we must allow ourselves to heal. The letting go is the dreadful misery....not the love and memories. Simba and Coco have become a permanent part of us and will live forever in our hearts, enriching and blessing us.
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Big hugs,
Litebrez

Thank you so much for your kind words as they really help. I too love cats and have been through this a few times too. You are right, as painful as it is, there are so many who need homes and to be loved. I'm so sorry you lost your Missy.

Hi, thanks so much your kind words. I don't know how I didn't include that Simba was an adorable white and orange cat. I'm so sorry about Coco as well. You are so right about them living in our hearts forever. You will be in my thoughts and prayers also.

Take good care

I am so very sorry about your loss of Simba. I am getting close to the time last year when I lost my Little Guy and that keeps the pain fresh so I understand what you are feeling.

You have written a beautiful poem for Simba in Tributes and I hope everyone goes there and reads it.

I would love to see a picture of her if you have one to share. Else, or in addition, you can post and tell us about some of the wonderful memories of her that you have...these will always remain with you...they cannot be taken away...as our babies have been.

Take care and I wish you peace and healing. It takes time but time does help us get stronger about coping.

Hugs to you and your family...and a special hug to your new Angel.....Simba.

Their memories stay with us forever....we only wish they could too!

Thank you so much for your kind words. I miss him terribly. I read your story about Sissy, and I'm so sorry. I don't know why things happen the way they do, but someday we will find out. Until then, take care and remember the good times you shared.
