Lightning-Strike Pet Loss Support Forum _ CyberShoulder Room _ Poll Re: Food Stamps For Pets And Service Animals

Posted by: moon_beam Sep 29 2010, 04:17 PM

Dear Lightning Strike Friends,
I get newsletters from a wonderful website called PetPlace.com. Today, September 29, 2010, I received a newsletter with a poll requesting feedback on a question that is concerning a lot of people who are financially challenged who have either companion animals or Service Partners. The question is if public / government provided food stamps should be allowed to include food for companion animals and / or Service Partners. Since this is an issue that is very dear to my heart I participated in this poll and thought of many of you who have shared with us concerning your financial challenges as well. My opinion is YES, I do believe food stamps should be provided for both Service Partners AND companion animals. But this is just my opinion, and I respect others who have different thoughts on the subject.

If you would like to participate in this poll, the following link is provided:

I wish each of you well, and hope that perhaps this poll can be used to petition, and CHANGE current regulations prohibiting financial assistance to include both Service Partners AND companion animals for people who cannot financially provide for them.

Peace and blessings,

Dearest Moon Beam, thanks so very much! I was a little confused where you click in your dot by your chosen answer because here are two of your yes options: "Yes, they are part of the family." And, "Yes - absolutely." Well, it took both the dots so I suppose you can give more than one answer. Do you know, Moon Beam? Well, it don't matter cuz it worked. smile.gif

As far as the other yes option, sorry folks. But, my fur and feather kids eat before I do. Ain't got no Dad to scold me now. tongue.gif

Thanks again so very much for giving us the opportunity to become involved. Hey, the US government pays SSI and such to those who are disabled, so why the heck not their service animals on which they so highly depend throughout every day and night? Absolutely. Regarding companion animals, they are not always a "luxury." Many times they are a must for people!

Okay, I think I'm done for now. Many Bright Blessings to You and Yours!!! wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif

Always, Dottie xoxoxox

Hi, Dottie, thanks so much for participating in the survey. PetPlace is a wonderful website filled with so much information about dogs and cats, and written in plain English that is understandable.

I hope all is well with you and your tribe today. The sun is playing hide and seek today. We were supposed to have rain today but Nature decided to postpone that forecast for us. Sundays are lazy days here - - snuggle days with my Noah. He is snuggled here next to me as I'm writing to you now.

Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers, Dottie.

Peace and blessings,
moon_beam
