This is what I am aware of what happened on Wednesday morning: my Step-father got home from dinner around 1:30AM, fed our cat Tasha on the front porch (female) and went to sleep. Around 8:00AM, he woke up to see the door wide open with our dog, Sammy, sitting at the front door looking outside. My step-father walked out and looked around and noticed Sammy shaking as she smelled some thing. My step-father eventually found animal intestines on the lawn near the sidewalk, almost completely clean with absolutely no fur or other animal parts around. When I got home that day, my family looked around the house and the whole neighborhood and found no remains of any animal; not even blood. Mainly, no Tasha.

We still haven't seen Tasha since Wednesday, April 4th. Yesterday we setup a camera to see if our cat was coming up and eating food. We eventually got a cat on tape and realized there is another cat like Tasha, a Russian Blue, that was been frequently visiting our front porch for food.

Note that a Possum had been recently been visiting also to eat food and drink water on our porch. We have even seen Tasha and the possum calmly sitting next to each other.

I am still stumped on what happened. I feel it could have been some sick cat eater who tried to break in, only to be scared away by our dog, or maybe the possum tore up our cat in a remote area and dragged the intestines to our lawn for no reason, or possibly a bird carried and dropped the intestines from another place. Whatever happened, it must have been a very disturbing event.

We talked to neighbors on either side of our home and asked about Tasha. One neighbor says they some times see our cat in their backyard but they hadn't seem Tasha the day we asked. Our other neighbor even had a camera setup with an over view of his lawn, but from the recorded video showed no evidence of a person or animal passing by that may have had some thing to do with this.

I've owned and loved Tasha since 1999, so that would be about 13 years or so. I still can't accept that she's gone because I have taken her being for granted, and I am stilled optimistic. I do feel that once I know she is gone I may go into depression.

If any one can help with knowledge or support that would be great.
