Yesterday our sweet Toby was hit by a car. He was only with us for a few months, he would have been 6 months old on the 22nd, and I miss him so!!! How do you deal with the hurt!! We had Toby and his brother George and it just broke my heart to hear George crying and trying to get Toby to get up. The first of June George had come down with Parvo. A few days later Toby came down with it also. I thought we were going to lose them then, but they pulled through with flying colors. We live out in the country and our road is not a busy road, and it was just so unexpected. Toby was picked out by my daughter and she would go and visit him everyday until he was able to come and live with us. It broke my heart to see her hurting so bad. Then my big, strong, fireman husband broke down and it is just a horrible feeling!!! I have read on this site so many people who have and are going through the same thing, and my heart goes out to all of you. George is now staying in my house, because I just don't think I could go through this hurt again. It would be too hard! I cried all night and woke up crying this morning. I guess you go through different stages, when we were getting ready to bury Toby I just kept thinking that he wasn't really gone. My husband, who currently studying to be a paramedic, kept telling me that he wasn't breathing and he was gone, and I just kept trying to tell him that he was. It was obvious that he was gone, but you just keep thinking that it is not true. I have read that it gets easier, and I am so ready for that point to get here.
