Hello-
My cat Mia has been missing for 6 days now. She is an indoor/outdoor but has never been out for more than 48 hours before. We are in Maine, and the weather is turning colder. I hope to find her soon. I was directed to this site by a very caring person who has offered much 'moral support' and also ideas for trying to find her. My heart is aching. I miss her so much. She is only 6 years old. She was supposed to be with me so much longer! I'm contacting an animal communicator in the morning. I will keep you posted how that goes. Thank you in advance for all your thoughts and prayers. Lori - Miss Mia's Mom |

The search for Mia is still in full swing.
I spoke with a pet communicator today who described where Mia might be and the things she was seeing. I think Mia is just beyond where I have been searching. Several of the things that the communicator mentioned are a little beyond my current search: big trucks, a deck that is very high that she wants to get up on, but is too high and she can't get on it, and gently sloping ground and houses with daylight basements. So I have not seen her, but I have several new places to check out. I miss my girl dearly, but I have renewed hope..... |

Lori,
I will keep you and Mia in my thoughts and prayers that she found and will be alright. Hopefully you will find her soon. I can only imagine the stress you are going through right now. Please keep us informed. Take Care, Cynthia -------------------- Odin, July 24, 2005.

Hi Cynthia,
Thank you for your well wishes. Mia is still not home, but I continue to search. Some people think that they saw her last weekend, but that is the last possible sighting that I know about. I went to look at a cat someone found today, but it was not her. It looked very similar, but it was not Miss Mia. I'll let you know how progress is going. Thanks, Lori |

Lori,
Have you tried putting an ad in your local paper? I would also call local vets and shelters and place flyers in any local shops that are near you. Perhaps someone that may have seen her frequents those places. Best of Luck, Cynthia -------------------- Odin, July 24, 2005.

Lori,
Your post was heart wrenching. I am praying that Mia has been found and is home safe at this point. If not, PLEASE continue searching, and follow what your heart tells you to do. One thing about cats; some have been know to have been missing for a long time and still returned to their owners. Please take care and know that others are keeping you in their thoughts and prayers. Dear Pat and Cynthia,
Thank you both so much for your support. Mia is still missing. I just want to know if she is OK - not hurt or scared or hungry or cold. At this point, while I'd miss her dearly, I'd be happy to find that she has found another loving family to live with and is warm and safe. Today is the last day of a two week ad that I have running in the local paper. The calls in respose to the ad are dwindling. I have to decide soon if I want to renew the ad ($58 for 2 weeks). There are posters up on telephone poles and stores in the surrounding area, and I have given flyers out to surrounding neighborhoods and handed out at the local halloween party last week. There have been a few possible sightings of her, but of course, when I get there, she is gone.... Fortunately, there are not too many shelters around, so that makes checking them not too hard. I do check a couple of times a week. I have been on an emoptional roller coaster. Sometimes I seem mostly OK (or am I just numb?). And other times I just break down sobbing. Weekends are really hard, since I'm alone most of the time and miss the company of my Miss Mia. I have contacted two animal communicators. They have both told me that she is in her body, but have not been a whole lot of help in actually *locating* her. Thank you so much for your support and prayers, Lori |

Lori - I hope you can find Mia. I understand what you are going through. One of my previous cats went missing for 18 days in the dead of winter. I walked the neighborhood for days looking for her, I put up posters, etc. After 18 days I came home from work and heard her crying under my apartment building. I was able to get her out and she was thin, but otherwise ok. I do not think she was there for the 18 days, I think that she came home while I was at work and was trying to find a way in to my apartment. I hope you have a happy ending as I did. I just wanted to let you know to not give up hope. Cats are pretty resilient animals. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Mia.
Melissa -------------------- The picture to the left is of Ginger and Mary Ann. I lost my sweet Ginger 11/4/2005 and Mary Ann on 11/19/2005, my husband and I really miss and love them.
Mary Ann 12/20/2003 - 11/19/2005 Ginger (aka Ginger-bean) 11/20/2003 - 11/4/2005 I can't believe I lost them both. Franklyn 1999 - 1/4/2004 -- She was a sweet kitty who we found as a stray...she was our first pet (my husband and I) together. Snuffy 1981 - 1/12/1990 -- He was my first cat as a little girl and taught me how wonderful cats are. |

All-
Thank you for the thoughts and prayers. Mia has now been missing 37 days. Still not home..... I miss her dearly. Some days are so difficult. And hard to get motivated to do anything. I hope more than anything that she is not sick, suffering, cold, or hungry. Today is Thanksgiving and I thanked God for helping her to find her way home. I thought maybe if I thanked him in adavance, he'd have to grant me my wish. Please come home Mia. Mommy has some gravy food waiting..... Lori |
